Hi everyone,
I'm 35 and from Germany. I was previously on TGOD and it's great to see this new site for preserving and cataloging floppy images.

See you around

Welcome

Hello,
I am a young game archivist and historian from the Czech Republic. I am looking forward to contributing but also helping to integrate YeOldeGames more into the general game archivist circles. I am an admin or a respected member in many places, such as VGPC, Gaming Alexandria, Hit Save! and other communities and would love for this place to become known and a destination for all floppy PC game dumps

Hello, i'm Quader from Germany, i'm into Emulation since the '90s with the C64s Emulator,
i ripped my ~2500 Disks with a selfmade Cable that was not able to get Copyprotected Disks, so there my journey began.

Later i joined Rittwage to get all my C64 Originals (~800) of my Collection ripped. But we were not able to rip better Copyprotections because of Hardware Limitation

Then i joined CAPS/SPS on Amiga with my Collection of ~700 Amiga Originals, i joined Replacement Docs with scanning my Manuals, helped Gamebase64 with my Manuals/Disks/Scans..., and also helped the Hall of Lights with scans from my Game Boxes.

In 2020 i joined Retronn for Fluxing all my C64 Original Disks in right manner with my Greaseweazle Hardware, i joined Greaseweazle Project for fluxing all my Amiga Games and IBM PC Games (around 100). At the Moment i have 48 TB Data which i am going through with a good ammount of Kryo-Data and img-Data from different Systems and Projects (C64/AtariST/CPC/Amiga/PC)
I'm running the Greaseweazle Cloud on which people can park and exchange their kryos and imgs
Out of Curiosity i'm testing Dosbox-Staging Nightly builds day-to-day to try out new implementations (4MiB S3 Patch/Innovation Soundcard/...) which will become real in future releases.

Now that everything of my collection is saved, i like to share with other people and find some games that seem to be lost, mostly Dos/IBM PC Games and i want to help building a complete "Installation Disk"-Based Collection of PC Games, this should be the most unmodified state on PC.

So, this is my Story, thank you to all, that you let me join this Project, i hope i can help

Welcome, Quader!

C64, that's very interesting actually! I've been looking forward to any project which works with original C64 disk dumps, I'm aware SPS does it but for some reason they hesitate to distribute them? Please, enlighten us on this matter. It's also on my personal agenda to extend this place beyond PC stuff alone and have a place among other things for both Amiga and C64 files too!

Anyway, enjoy your stay!

Cheer up! Remember the less you have, the more there is to get.

Hi guys,

Glad to see you guys have set up this preservation site. I hope you’re not as odd as the guy who runs TGOD. I stopped visiting that site after seeing him continually bash members asking questions on the forum. Thanks!

Hi quasi_stomach,
welcome to RetroBytes. We wish you a nice time here.

But what do you mean with the questions, if we have all your floppy disks?
